Moving and transporting heavy safes and vaults is serious business.
It should not be attempted by inexperienced people that don't have the proper knowledge and the right equipment.
Injuries, property damage and even fatalities can result from well-intentioned but misguided attempts.

On the left is the bank vault door and frame as we
were positioning it into the opening.
This was a used vault door. After it was installed, we
did some restoration work to make it look like new.
The above door was 1,200 lbs it was removed from the safes body so the safe would not overload the elevator. The elevator could only handle 3,500 lbs and the weight of the safe with the door on was 4,200 lbs... Removing the door from the body made the body 3,000 lbs. taking them on the elevator separately achieved our goal.
